Hi I’m Tim (42/m). I’m happiest when I’m around dogs 🐕, but I don’t have one of my own. Looking to move to SF from Oakland this fall (flexible timeframe), in Lower Haight, Alamo Square, Hayes Valley, or the Mission.
About You
I’m looking for roommates established in their careers (or focused on startups), don’t smoke tobacco, are active, prioritize health, clean and tidy, and intentional with their lives. I’d love to live with founders, makers, hackers, and tinkerers.
About Me
You can expect me to be friendly and personable 1:1 and in small groups, or host large gatherings (elsewhere), but opt out of big group activities. I’m clean and tidy in common areas, and ask the same of housemates. I’m active in that I bike for transportation, train in self defense, do calisthenics, and for many years was a hot yoga practitioner.
Professionally I lead community for an early-stage funded startup, and consult through my own agency on the side. I work from home in the mornings and go to the office several afternoons a week. Outside of work, I’m a safe streets advocate (bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure), host occasional friend gatherings, love SF’s parks, and take occasional road trips.
I’ve lived with others for the 5 years I’ve been in the Bay. First, I first rented a room in Palo Alto sharing the space with a homeowner and two foreign visiting students. For the past 4.5 years in a co-living house in West Oakland with 17 bedrooms, fluctuating between 10-16 people due to COVID and remote work trends. Now I’m looking to live with fewer people again, and move to the city. I’m also planning to adopt a four-legged companion within the next 6-12 months.
About Our Search
Together (and possibly with 2-3 others) we could look for a place we can turn into a calm respite in a central neighborhood, close to transit, parks, and social activities.
Desired amenities include secure parking for 2 bicycles, a not super hilly location (single-speed rider—every day is🦵 day), and in-unit laundry. Ideally, I picture a row house with a back yard or a unit in a converted loft with roof access.
Next Steps
Please contact me and also share what you’re looking for, your timeframe, background of living with others, and references from former roommates. I’m happy to provide references as well.
